Repair My Welding Equipment
Sending in Your Repairs
Drop-off Procedures:
Customers can drop off welding equipment without prior scheduling, except for larger quantities (more than a pallet) or multiple engine-driven machines.
- Courier Drop-off: Equipment can be sent via courier. Ensure the package includes company name, contact name, contact email/phone, and a detailed issue description.
Payment Methods:
- Accepted Payment Modes: We accept e-transfers, card payments over the phone, cash, or in-person card transactions. Non-certified cheques are not accepted for non-account holders.
- PST Number: Provide your PST number if applicable.
Wait Times:
- Standard Wait Time: Usually 1-2 weeks for initial assessment. During peak periods, this can extend to 3-4 weeks.
- Queue: Call in advance to secure a spot in the queue and you will be called when you can drop off your machine.
- Part Ordering: Additional time (1-2 weeks) may be needed for part orders. Longer delays will be communicated if parts are back-ordered for over a month.
What to Include:
Send all related components (e.g., gun/torch, water cooler) used during the problem occurrence for accurate diagnostics.
Repair Cost Estimate:
If repair exceeds 50% of the cost of a new machine or parts cost over $600-$800, we will provide an estimate before proceeding. Upon request we can call with an estimate before we proceed with the repair.
Estimate Fee Policy:
The estimate fee covers the cost of diagnostic labour incurred during the assessment process. This fee is only applicable when the repair may not be feasible due to discontinued parts or if the customer chooses not to proceed after being presented with the repair estimate. The fee is usually $120, but is subject to increase depending on how much additional labour is involved. There will be no charge if no diagnostic labour is performed.
Warranty Information:
- Manufacturer Warranty: For machines under manufacturer warranty with available parts, our turnaround time is typically 1-2 weeks.
- Part Warranties: Parts and Computer boards usually have a 90-day warranty; Hypertherm boards are covered for 6 months. Refer to our warranty page for more details.
- In-house Repair Warranty: One-month warranty from the pickup date. Covers errors from our repair related to the original issue.
- Limitations: Warranty doesn’t cover new or unrelated issues post-repair. Our responsibility is solely for errors made during repair.
Please note we do not offer service calls for repairs as we are not set up for that. Service calls are only available for machine calibrations. Refer to our calibration page for more information.
